In the 1980s, John Hanmer was a well-respected Canadian police officer and father to two children, Michael and Shannon.  Two decades and three countries later, John’s life ended in a barrage of gunfire.  In the intervening years, he joined and left biker gangs, fled to Thailand, had two Thai-born children, who he also named Michael and Shannon, and finally fled to the Philippines, where he met his violent end.  Michael Shannon Michael Shannon John weaves together the four subjective viewpoints of John’s children to tell a story inherently layered in contradictions, myths and legacy, as they wade into the emotional detritus left in their father’s wake.
